Shipping Update

Hey Backers!!

I know its been a few weeks since our last update, and I wanted to get you all caught up on the updates as we move into christmas. 

AUS - as far as I know, shipments that have inventory in-hand, have gone out. I have a large inventory shipment leaving soon (including pins and books they dont have in stock), so that they can fulfill the rest of the orders. I'll have the arrival date of those next week.  

     TLDR:Most should have gone out, orders being held are for additional items that are not in-hand yet 

UK/EU - I swear this is going to be the end of me. So i've gone back and forth with the GamesQuest team, they've received the owlbears and are *almost* ready to start fulfillment. Thing is, they want to have absolutely everything before they begin. So I tried to have things segmented out so that they can ship what they have while the pins and misc books arrive. They did the segmentation, however, i broke things up with Owlbears/Pins/Fish and Owlbears/everything else. So now, they've holding everything until the pins arrive. Those are in the works and should ship out to them on Friday or Monday, so we can start fulfillment ASAP (will have a date then). 

 Its been really frustrating trying to work with this team, and for future projects looking to move our inventory elsewhere. (also brexit didnt make things any easier).

     TLDR: Waiting for additional items (pins, and books that were not in the UK), and will not start ANY fulfillment until those items are in-hand

 US - yesterday another 17 pallets got picked up at the warehouse which means ALL* the US orders have been shipped!! (the caveat is that this dosent include the boxed backers that are withheld for the mini and artbook). The ABC book hasent been printed yet, and so that hasent been fulfilled quite yet either (so you will see that outstanding in your orders.

     TLDR: All owlbears should be shipped Friday with exception to the ABC book

Note: This does not include orders with owlbears in a box that were opted to wait for mini-art book to arrive

Shipping update

Hey All, 

Just a quick update to whats going on, 

Americas

We had the US warehouse start with just fulfilling the standalone owlbears, since that was the easiest one to start with fulfillment with (esp as we went through and tagged the rest of the in-a-box users).  a few hundred orders of the standalone owlbears have gone out and a few have posted pictures. I've uploaded the rest of the orders to the warehouse system, but they've got a lot of work ahead of them to do. Context wise there's about 5000 orders in the system, and this warehouse is a small business which is about only 4-6 employees. They're working their hardest on getting everything out. 

What they've been doing is printing out labels in chunks (hence some of you starting to get tracking numbers), then they'll spend the week packing and preparing those orders. They are then palletized and the USPS needs to come and pick up those orders with their own truck (so their scheduling as well). So far it seems like they'll be picking up orders once a week (Thursday/Friday), at which point those picked-up orders are processed and shipped to their respective locations. 

So all i can ask at this point is patience.

Europe

After finally getting a customs broker that can help us out, we finally got through customs and paid our £10,000 VAT bill. As far i can see, from the chatter between the manufacturer, freight forwarder, and warehouse, the plushes should be delivered to the warehouse (Games Quest) sometime tomorrow  . But at that point we need to see where we fit into GamesQuest project schedule for fulfillment, and to be honest i have no insight on when it will start. I have provided them with everything they need to get started and I'll keep an eye out if I can get a start date for those to start going out. 

Oceania 

I had originally provided a spreadsheet to their team to start basic fulfilllment, but i had not realized that they were waiting for the rest of the orders to even begin fulfillment. They have been provided with all orders and should be able to start fulfillment asap. 

Phew thats almost everyhing, but ill put the other stuff in a new update.

Shipping has begun!

Hey soon to be Owlbear Wranglers! a quick update for you all.

US

• Owlbears are beginning to ship, the warehouse (which is also a small business) had a lot going on and spent a few days packing orders (there are a lot of them), no i see manifests and tracking numbers, so you'll start getting notifications on shipments going out.
• For the water damage that happened, only 88 boxed snowy and 88 boxed rose have been damaged, which is a small enough number it wont impact anything that we're doing fulfillment-wise, just an insurance hassle. 

UK/EU

•  shipment is slated to arrive at port on Oct 10th, at which point it seems like we need a customs broker to get them to the warehouse  (which has been a pain)

AUS 

• need to follow up with, the warehouse, but they should be ready to start shipping out, will follow up for them to commence shipments.

In A box stuff

Lorebook is almst done

minis, i was supposed to get 4 pewter minis about two weeks ago now, been following up with the vendor to figure out whats going on cause one needs to be picked and ordered so we can get them everywhere (fortunately they're located in the Netherlands so getting them to the UK/EU will be really fast)

Arrival in US Warhouse (and joys of damages)

Hey Owlbear Wranglers, 

We've got some good news and bad-ish news.

The good news 

the first container has finally reached the US warehouse!! This is the first of two containers, the other should be arriving around Friday. Then after that the warehouse can start sorting and preparing shipments!! So we can have product start going out next week. 

The bad-ish news

there's actually two things here

1st. The landing time of the EU freight is scheduled to land on October 7th. These were directly shipped out from the manufacturer and I haven't nailed down the cause of the delay, but unfortunately, there is little I can do to make that go faster.

2nd. the container that just landed (US) had a hole in the container where water leaked inside. 

The amount of damaged product is still being assessed (I know a few boxed snowy owlbears got affected), but fortunately there is insurance coverage from the freight. But I don't think it will impact our ability to fulfill all backer orders. 

Finally, if you were a backer who is receiving an owlbear In-A-Box and missed the survey about what to do with the mini+lorebook (go here)

Owlbears Arriving At Warehouses

Hey soon-to-be Owlbear-wranglers!

It looks as tho the owlbears have been starting to arrive at our warehouses, which is great news, some of which (like aus) which caught me by surprise!

•  (AUS) On the 5th, Owlbears have arrived at our warehouse partner, Aetherworks,(which caught be totally by surprise).
•  (USA) On the 7th, the container containing owlbears has passed customs from the Port of LA and is en-route to our warehouse, the estimate I got back then was on the 12th (assuming no issues), but I have a feeling it will be later this week.
•  (Europe) Sadly I don't have an update on Europe's shipment yet, Im hoping to get an update directly from them on Monday (since I sent an email on Friday asking), but at this point looking at the timing of the other two, I would probably guess arrival this or next week. 

This of course, leads us to address updates! 

Update Addresses   

So, I know you've been getting a lot of emails about addresses and I apologize about that, I really want to be sure we get all our address updates so that nobody misses out on shipping. An issue we were having before was that orders were locked but addresses were not, so if you had a slight change of address (Im not sure where the deviation happens) it stops you from updating. 

I've been able to unlock about more than half of you (not sure why everyone isn't unlocked, a question i have for backerkit), but feel free to check your address and update it, if not send me a message through Kickstarter and I'll have something I can track down (I've got 200+ updates so it will take me the week to get through them) So if you don't see your update, don't be afraid to message me again (since the messages stack in the backend by user). 

In-A-Box

For those of you who are getting the In-A-Box, I just sent you an email (from andreas@metalweavegames, titled Your Owlbear Plush In-A-Box (Response Needed)), which will be asking you for your preferred method to go about receiving the delayed accessories (which were the pewter mini and lorebook). 

2023 Calendar

Crazy to know its already been a year (and sadly time never stops). This Tuesday, we're excited to be launching the next baby bestiary calendar, illustrated by CatBat Art! And we'll be one of the founding series of projects on Backerkit's new crowdfunding platform (launching alongside Monte Cook Games and Coyote & Crow).  You've probably gotten a few emails from them and I do apologize at the frequency they've come at, it was a bit more frequent than I was comfortable with. 

What I'm excited about on this project is not only do we have coffee (from the amazing Found Familiar coffee roasters) to go alongside our coffee-stained art. We have the opportunity to do gold foil printing for every image of the calendar, which would look amazing!
